This is no BWSSB, that supplies water to Bangalore.
It is Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board.
It is hiring Civil Engineers.
Guess how much is the Application Fees. 600 Rs for General Merit.
All the ESCOM's (I mean BESCOM, GESCOM, MESCOM & CESCOM) did hire engineers.
Guess how much is the Application Fees. 4000 Rs.
The mother of all such Government hiring, UPSC's IAS exam does charge 100 Rs.
It's not my case to make UPSC's exam fees as the benchmark for all recruitments.
There should be some semblance in charging the exam-fees.
KPSC does conduct exams & they too charge upwards of 300 Rs.
& worse, all applications have to be applied online.
This in the state, where electricity supply is provided at best for 18 hours & erratic at worst.
It says something about Karnataka Government.
It won't provide electricity reliably, but expects everyone to apply for jobs through Internet.
It won't ensure it's servers, webpages are well-designed, but expects us to use it's websites.
A solution props up.
Each time a Degree certificate is awarded by the University, a job-profile is generated & stored at KPSC & other hiring agency (Well, All it needs is a interface from Karnataka Examination Authority & Universities)
Use the serial number on the Degree Certificate to identify the candidate.
Each person's details are stored by default.
All the candidate will have to do is
1) Send an SMS indicating, he wishes to apply for the particular job using a code.
2) Use IMPS to pay fees.
That should reduce the below:
1) entering the same details to each job
2) take challans, ....... stamps, fees, .... ==> towards cashless society.
3) time-effort to apply.
Well, this is a long-shot solution, but is anyone interested to weed out the redundancy in between the candidate & the job...
Think of all the layers in between that this examinatiin fees paying is supporting
1) Internet Service Provider (On Mobile or Computer)
2) Internet Surfing Center or else Print out provider....
3) Electricity/Backup
4) Website Designer, Server, ..........
5) Post Office/Bank
6) Applicant's time & effort to do all the above.
